ELA Current Integrated Unit of Study
Change The second part of this unit will integrate our ELA standards and our social studies curriculum. Students will continue to read both informational and literary text. Students will continue to write to learn and learn to write. Our digital subscription, Scope Magazine, will be utilized as one of our informational sources. Our focus will be making meaning and utilizing text evidence to support our understanding. Students will read, Give Me Liberty, as our literary text. This story is about an indentured servant during the Revolutionary War. This novel study will be organized in both Classroom and OneNote. We will finish this up in two weeks. Students were given an extra credit opportunity before their Williamsburg trip. This will be due upon the completion of the novel. In addition, we will spend some time preparing for our upcoming PARCC assessment. Use the included link to make yourself familiar with the expectations for your child. We will explore the change in the New World as the Europeans settle our 13 colonies and the events leading to the Revolution. Students will research a colonial trade to complete the Trade Research Project. Flipped LessonsFlipped Lessons will continue. Students will be assigned out of class flips as homework. Ask your child to share one with you. Students are also assigned in class flips during our learning rotations. Check out one way I assess students' understanding to plan for follow up lessons.
